The project was centered around making 3 push dives in a week time. Two of the
dives were in the upstream section of Dos Ojos trying to reach the next cenote
upstream, and looking for new leads in that area. The third one was in the Pit
area to approach a small restriccion that was discoveried in a previous project.
This structure is heading in the direccion of Nohoch Nah Chich and it has good
potential for exploration.
Attenting 3 push dives in 6 days was only possible because of the 11 DIR divers
that were part of the EJPP 2004 team. The divers we organized in several teams
which specific tasks. Teams would start diving at 8:30 in the morning and would
finished at about 5:30 in the afternoon just before darkness would set. The
tasks were divided in daily and push related activities. The daily tanks included
setting up reels and jumps in the Dos Ojos Cavern area, locating safety tanks
at 5K near the Tikim Chim cenote, and removing anything that was left by others
team in the 5K range. The push dive activities included putting 4 fresh stages
at 10K before a restriccion going upstream, and removing them inmediatly after
the push dive from 7-8K feets. Basically we needed one day to put fresh stages
at 10K, and one day to dive them and clean everything from the cave. In several
ocasions teams would cross paths underwater while performing their duties, which
was the only way to accomplish the clean up dives and leave the cave before
darkness.
